– EasyMiles: A lead generation system for mortgage lenders, realtors
and movers using an air miles award as the consumer incentive. Consumer
website acted as a lead generation system. Associate website is an
ecommerce site for capture of associate fees and for the purchase of

Ecommerce: Developed custom ‘calculator’ for determining size of the

Territory Creation: SQL Server application to create territories based
on membership demographics supplied by major US airline. Targeted
150,000 members per territory of contiguous zip code areas. System
began with a ‘seed’ zip code and found closest contiguous zip codes
until target population reached. System produced 193 territories
ranging in physical size from 7 contiguous zip codes to 2 adjacent

Home Loans – Targeted Audit / Credit Risk: Developed SQL Server based
system to make an “adversely weighted, random audit selection”. All
loans were weighted by a number of factors including probability of
default. The system then randomly selected the loans, but giving a
higher probability to those adversely weighted (similar to the NBA
draft lottery). The system doubled the number of audits finding
unsatisfactory loan packages. SQL Server.

Home Loans – Bonus Modifiers: Developed SQL Server based system for
calculating a modifier to existing bonus plans. System calculated six
(6) ‘modifiers’ based on objective performance criteria from monthly
loan production. Modifier results were rolled up the hierarchical
organization chart using linear interpolation and other techniques. The
system successfully defended all challenges when inaccuracies were
alleged by field sales (each month for the first 6 to 9 months). SQL

Countrywide Home Loans – NextGen
Laptop / IFM (Internet File Manager): Developed a system for secure,
unattended (automated) remote install of Lotus Notes on individual
laptops. IFM allowed the deployment of Lotus Notes to a distributed
national sales force. System securely downloaded employee specific
files –ex: notes.id -- via the internet (HTTP) using a Visual Basic
program. System also downloaded a Notes configuration program to

Home Loans – CMD Ops Policy & Procedures: Architected a project
management system to handle the request, construction and publication
of operational and procedural bulletins for a direct to consumer sales
force of 16,000. This communications database allows for timely
dissemination of government regulations, corporate operations policies
and disaster recovery alerts to Countrywide personnel nationally. The
application showed its mettle in the wake of events like 911 and
Katrina by delivering critical information to Countrywide’s 1500

Home Loans – Title Router: Architected, developed and project managed a
multi-technology system to move title orders automatically from
Countrywide’s internal loan origination system directly to the title
company. Used Lotus Notes as the hub to tie the pieces together (chosen
because a key existing system component used Notes Mail as the delivery
mechanism). Scripted SQL Server DTS was used to move the data through a
secure FTP link to the title company. System had multiple redundancies
and fail-over to prevent data loss. System ran ‘lights out’ (without
intervention) for several years. Only intervened to add destinations to
the router and on the occasion when the dedicated phone line was

Home Loans – Structured Loan Desk: Managed project and provided design
assistance to upgrade the Structured Loan Desk application to handle
change requests as well as have a web interface equivalent to the
internal user interface. When complete, the new Structured Loan Desk
handled 25,000 exceptions and 25,000 change requests with a crew of 17
underwriters. (Note: an ‘improved’ version of the Structured Loan Desk
replaced this system and required over 70 underwriters and associated
management structure for the same 25,000 / 25,000 work-load). Lotus

Operations Branch: Provided assistance and developed SQL Server
application to locate the closest operations branch given a zip code as
input. System allowed choosing between physically closest and closest
within same state. SQL Server.

Home Loans – Underwriting Review: Constructed a database application to
capture and track underwriting certifications for 600-700 field
underwriters. This database enabled management to see which loan types
that each underwriter was certified to approve. Provided the ability to
predict upcoming certification expirations and allowed them to
proactively train underwriters for product coverage in changing market

Home Loans – Pricing Exception Tracking: Built a monitoring application
for sales management that detected loan pricing by account executives
that was outside of pricing guidelines. If an unauthorized pricing
exception occurs, management is alerted and the account executive is
requested to provide justification the rogue pricing of the loan. The
presence of oversight reduced the occurrence of pricing guideline
exceptions by over 90% with a net savings to Countrywide of over

Home Loans – Compliance Audit: Developed a Lotus Notes system
integrated with a back end SQL Server. System produced a workflow
system for tracking compliance audit issues from root cause through
resolution. System ran daily and included an integrated email
notification. System reduced an individual’s 6 to 8 hour daily work
effort to a few minutes each morning. Lotus Notes / SQL Server.
TJGroup – IntellAgent Control: Sales Force automation software.
Assisted
in re-architecture of sales force automation software. Created the
international monetary exchange sub-system. The exchange sub-system
allowed the roll up of income based on the country where the product
was sold, the country where a division was located and the country of
the home office (i.e. sales rolled up 3 levels by country). Lotus Notes.
Redesigned
the Lotus Notes C API component to remove all but one of the API DLLs.
Developed a prototype ‘foreign language’ swap system that would allow
the system to be re-issued in different languages nearly immediately
after version completion (existing methods required weeks to
translate). Language swap was based on a database of all text
components and ability to use the Notes API to change embedded text.

Home Loans – BOSS (Branch Operations Status System): Developed a
closing services system that provided a centralized closing services
workflow with complete access to the branch network. All closing
documents, most notably the HUD1, were created centrally with feedback
from branch. All closing documents were printable at branch. System
linked internal loan processing system for input. System linked to
title company for output. System also interfaced with an accounting
system. Original estimates for group were for each specialist to handle
up to 60 loans per month. Actual production was 90+ loans per month

Home Loans – Purchase Redirect: Developed a Lotus Notes workflow system
for tracking lead transfers from the corporate call center to over 1500
branches in the Countrywide network. System transferred up to 2000

Development: Developed, re-designed, or assisted in the development of
numerous applications. A security audit revealed that over 150 Lotus
Notes applications contained our names at the Manager or Designer
level. Similarly, for SQL Server servers and databases – access to a
dozen or more servers and about 20 databases including admin level

Physician’s
Data Corp. – PDCis – Honored by IBM with Beacon Award Finalist (1999)
along with Physician’s Data Corporation for Best In Industry. PDCis
bridged a word processor with a relational database. System captured
medications, symptoms and other patient data into an Oracle backend
while retaining the look of a word processor to the physician and the

Modified existing and
created new features based on Object Oriented model (UML) including
developing new targeted medical specialties.
Increased
performance of compile by 60X (reduced compile time from 20 minutes to
20 seconds). Overall performance also improved. Increased performance
of application forms and printing with improvements as much as 5X

Developed
a verification and validation process and implemented. Reduced error
rate and, more importantly, greatly increased customer satisfaction as

Designed and
implemented a ‘check in / check out’ configuration management process
that allowed 3 Lotus Notes developers to work simultaneously on the
same applications without collision.

Instruments: – Developed a Quality Problem Resolution database to
encourage problem reporting and facilitate tracking to resolution.
Consolidates many reports into a single problem report for resolution.
System contains re-usable components that can and have been
incorporated into other designs. Developed an Attachment Library to
embed files outside of production databases. With a production database
open – quickly embeds the file into the Library and places a labeled
